December 13th - Back from California! It was so beautiful I hated to come home. I've made good on my promise and I've got a photo-diary up. Click here. Friday's concert with the Edmonton Public School's Enrichment Program @ the Winspear is turning into a bigger press event than I imagined. The Edmonton Journal is going to have my photo in the What's On pullout! View recent articles from the Edmonton Journal (pdf version) and St. Albert Gazette (pdf version). For those of you who missed it - CKUA posted the interview that Jeff and I did with Monica Miller on Nov. 23rd. Follow the links to past interviews at www.ckua.com. December 6th - Well the DVD concert taping was a roaring sucess! We don't have an exact tally but it looked like there were about 350 people in attendance even though the weather was dreadful that evening and the venue was not very conveniently located! I think it helped to have had articles in both the Edmonton Journal (pdf version) and St. Albert Gazette (pdf version).Hopefully soon I will post a clip from the show. Looking forward to some California weather this weekend in Monterey! Headed south with Cowboy Celtic this Friday - will have some pics when I get back. November, 20th: Only a few more days before the big show. Tami, Jeff and I have been rehearsing like crazy! Nothing like the pressure of having a concert taped to kickstart one's practicing. We have some new latin arrangements and I will also be performing some Christmas material that I plan to record in the new year. Jeff and I will be on Monica Miller's show this Thursday, November 23 at 2pm on the CKUA radio network. (94.9 fm or www.ckua.com). Please note that if you are a music student or choir member you are able to get an additional ticket free when you purchase one ticket. This offer is only good if you buy directly from Keri, Jeff or Tami in advance. Pdf version of the concert announcement
November 7th Just got back from playing two completely contrasting events this past weekend. The St. Crispin's Ensemble performed a multimedia/new music show for a small but appreciative crowd. We (meaning Don Ross clarinet, Dave Clarke computers, Eva Colmers video, John Ullyatt actor, and I) will be mounting the same show in Edmonton on January 27th. Cowboy Celtic played to a sold out house in Turner Valley on Saturday night. Always our favourite venue! Unfortunately Dave Wilkie experienced some health problems and had to leave the stage during the second last number. Thankfully, he has been given a clean bill of health and Cowboy Celtic will be playing next Friday! October 28th -Wow - two updates in one week. I have a link now to Tracy Kolenchuk's website - he took some lovely photos during the live concert this week at the Library Theatre. Garnet Rogers headlined this fundraising event for CKUA and I was asked to perform one song.I showed up thinking I was just playing in the lobby at intermission!! How nerve-wracking to play in front of Garnet Rogers - but at the same time what a thrill to be on the same stage as him! October 24th. I've been demo-ing a 26-string harp all week for CKUA's fundrive. Anyone who donates during the Celtic Show will be entered in the raffle to win this harp. If you didn't donate last night (when I was on the show!) you'll have more chance next Friday, Nov. 3 between 6-9pm. For pics and soundclips of me playing the harp check out www.ckua.com. Feb. 5th - Cowboy Celtic just got back from a fabulous time in Elko, Nevada. Check out my photo journal. |
